Work on the replacement of the main water pipes, which will solve the problem of frequent breakdowns and provide residents with a regular water supply, started Monday in Gracanica, in "Tomislav Sekulic St." leading to Padalište settlement.
"The works are progressing as planned and existing water pipe has to be replaced with the new one in the length of 1,500 meters. We ask residents to be patient in traffic due to works that will soon be continued down the street which leads to the post office. The teams are constantly in the field and the replacement of the first 500 meters of pipes is coming to an end," said Adviser to the Mayor Zoran Danilovic.
The work is carried out on the basis of a recently signed memorandum between the municipality of Gracanica and Regional waterworks in Pristina.
Funds for the purchase of pipes in the length of 1,000 meters were allocated by the municipality of Gracanica and other 500 meters by Regional Waterworks, which finances all the other work that includes excavation, pipe replacement and connection.
The problem of frequent breakdowns and disruption of water supply will be solved by placing a new pipe.
