Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, Mayor of
Berane, Dragoslav Šćekić, and Health Director Aleksandar
Popović, visited the maternity ward in Gračanica today and
handed over gifts to the women in labor.
They visited the maternity ward at the Gračanica hospital on the
occasion of the Gračanica Municipality Day, which is celebrated
today. The women in labor were presented with gifts and some
financial assistance.
Mayor Popović pointed out that today, on the Municipality Day, he
came to visit the place where the future of Gračanica was born.
“In addition to all the events we have had, this is the most
beautiful event – the visit and picture we send from our
municipality, which is that we have a future here. In three days of
celebrating the holiday, five babies have been born. Every baby
born is a victory to our municipality”, Popović said.
Mayor of Berane, Dragoslav Šćekić congratulated the citizens of
Gračanica on this holiday, pointing out that he was particularly
honored to visit the maternity ward.
"Is there a greater praise for a place than when babies are born, it
is a gift from God and the most beautiful present. In this direction,
I can wish you as many gifts as possible, that doctors and medical
staff have as much work as possible, and to have the best
possible conditions for their functioning in the future. I am sure
Gračanica will have a bright future", said Sćekić.
Dr. Ratko Perenić pointed out that, according to the number of
newborns, an increase in childbirth was recorded compared to
last year.
Milica Nikolić from Gračanica got a daughter, thanked for today's
gifts, pointing out that today's visit was a surprise to her.
Aleksandra Stojanović from Gračanica, who gave birth to a boy,
also thanked for the gift. "Thanks for the gift, this is a kind act in a
situation like this", she said.
