The OSCE project “Facilitating Access to Public Information and Documents” aims at supporting municipalities to reach higher standards of public information in line with the provisions in the applicable legislation as well as the Council of Europe’s Conventions on Access to Public Information.
The acting director of the Regional Office in Peja, Mr. Norman Spitzegger, in his speech thanked municipal officials for a good cooperation with OSCE.
“By making these regulations available to the municipality and to other local institutions, it will be easier for the officials to enforce all the municipal regulations contained in the compendium, and for the residents to become familiar with local legislation and demand enforcement of the rights conferred upon them by the enacted regulations,” stated mr. Spitzegger while addressing to the audience.
Municipal Mayor mr. Haki Rugova, highly appreciated the OSCE project and good cooperation with this organization.
“I thank the OSCE, thanks to the team covering Istog municipality for a continual support with projects in different fields. There is no doubt that this compilation shall facilitate not only the work of our officials, but it will be a good tool also for our citizens,” stated mr. Rugova.
