TAHIRI ARIAN

Arian Tahiri is the deputy mayor of the Municipality of South Mitrovica. He is also since 2018 the chairman of the Democratic Youth of Kosovo in Mitrovica and vice-chairman of the PDK in Mitrovica.

He was born on December 3, 1993 in Mitrovica. Arian Tahiri has contributed to the city of Mitrovica since childhood, he was the captain of his generation at the “Trepça” basketball school from 2006 to 2010. He and his peers from Mitrovica have brought him several titles of the champion at the Kosovo level in the league of pioneers, cadets and juniors.

Since 2009 he has been a professional basketball player in the Kosovo basketball super league, where in 2012 together with the city club “K.B. Trepça” has been declared champion and winner of the Cup of the Republic of Kosovo. He was part of several respected teams in the Kosovo Super League until 2019. He started his professional career in 2017, working in the private sector in several foreign and local companies, in the finance and accounting sector.

He is an economist and political scientist by profession. He completed his doctoral studies at South East European University, in economics, while his master’s degree at Banka Financa, and he has two faculties at the bachelor’s level in economics and the second one in political science.

He is the author of several scientific works related to economic phenomena.

He lives in Stantërg with his wife Diane and his two parents, Nazmija and Enver.
